    Default Responsibility for Pre-Employment Exams

    My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Illinois

    My question is if we hire an employee and send them through orientation and they do not (they quit before they start) actually start. Can we deduct the pre-employment exam from their paycheck for thier orientation?

    Illinois law provides,
    Quote Quoting 820 ILCS 235/1
    No employer shall require any employee or applicant for employment to pay the cost of a medical examination or the cost of furnishing any records of such examination required by the employer as a condition of employment.
