    Default Assaulted at a Bar

Some friends and I were at a bar when my friend Jason ran into a girl (Melanie) that seems to show up and cause trouble for him at just about every bar we go to. Jason was there with his new girl and Melanie to say the least was furious. Jason and I were walking through the crowd, his girl was in front and I was behind Jason. Melanie came behind me and grabbed Jason's sleeve saying she wanted to talk. He snatched his arm away twice before I finally asked her to stop. I am female and much smaller than her and all their jerking was causing me to slip on the wet floor and I could tell he was getting pretty aggravated. By the way none of us were drunk. Even Melanie looked sober. Anyway, I stopped and explained to her that if security sees you two tussling Jason will more than likely get tossed out.

But that didn't stop her she walked right up to him, started arguing with him and that resulted in her punching him in the face and he fell backwards onto some steps. Of course security grabbed him before he could even think to retaliate. When I spoke with Security and the Manager they refused to throw her out. They said it was too close to closing time and they didn't want to make a scene.

This is a regular occurrence and I think he should seek some type of protection from her. Either she is going to eventually provoke him to retaliate or she is going to go too far and hurt him or have someone else hurt him. I personally think she is a stalker! What can he do to protect himself? Has she done enough for him to seek a PPO or restraining order? What is the bar’s obligation to insuring safety? I am disappointed in how they handled the issue. I am sure if it were the other way around security would have taken pleasure in throwing him out.

    Default Getting a PPO

If he wants to get a PPO, he should be filing police reports in association with any incidents where she batters him, and can use those reports in association with his petition.
