Default Dependent Income and the Means Test

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: CA

My girlfriend is permanently disabled and we've been living together for the past 10 years. She receives $1231 S.S. disability each month. That money is co-mingled in our joint checking account.

I claim her as a dependent.

Do I need to add that income to my income when I do the means test? She will be filing Chap 7 also...but separately since CA doesn't recognize common law marriage.

    Thanks in advance, Barry

Yes, she answered it, but not fully.

Since my dependent's S.S. income is comingled with mine, how do I determine what percentage she contributes. All her income goes into the pot for bills, food etc. Should I figure 50% of her income gets added to mine...100%?

That's what I really need to know.

    Thanks in advance, Barry
