Exclamation What Happens to a Child Support Order if We Want to Reconcile

My question involves child support in the State of: NJ

Here is the situation: Child support order issued ex-parte in 2005. Husband (defendent) went back to his home country India. Current arrears ~ $50000. Husband & wife now want to reconcile. Either wife may leave US or husband may come to US. Either way, wife & husband want to cancel the order, void the arrears and start afresh.
    What's the simple process?
    - Should wife or husband call court & request a hearing to cancel the order and arrears completely?
    - Do they have to pay the $50K arrears to state any which way, and if they do, will that 100% money be actually given to wife & child?
    - Is it likely that his entry to US may be prohibited or he may land into problem the minute he lands at airport immigration?
    - Is it likely that a warrant may have been issued already? Both wife & husband are not aware

Your thoughts on simple process to save the family, will be truly appreciated.

Did the wife/mother ever recieve public assistance?

If she did, the arrears cannot be forgiven because the money is woed to the state for reimbursement of benefits.

With arrears of $50k, the husband's passport may have already been suspended or red flagged.

Wife really needs to get a consult with a local attorney because the arrears are so large.
