My question involves towing laws for the State of: FL
My vehicle was towed from my apartment at 1am this morning (for parking on the grass) I stopped him on the main road where my apartment is located (right outside the entrance) and asked him nicely to please release my car, he said he couldn't do that, that I would have to call my landlord and have her give him permission to release my vehicle. I asked him how much it was going to be and how much would I have to give him at that moment to release the car, he stated that he would not know the cost until he got back to his office. According to FL Statute 715.07-3, if I am reading it correctly, he should have released the car and charged me half of the posted towing rate. Please someone help me, this ended up costing me $182.00, he only went 5 to 7 miles. Thanks so much.
