So you're telling us that we would be better off had somebody taken you "'behind the barn' and" put you "out of our misery"? Interesting.

Yep. I didn't steal people's stuff or anything like that. I held meanial jobs and got stoned. That was my life.

But, what I am refering to is those that are in their 30's and up. The ones who have no desire to become anything more than they currently are. Younger people, if they want to do better, by all means, get them help. But if they leave a facility to go get stoned, there is no desire for change.

As you know, there are those that want change and cannot get it and there are those that enjoy their meaningless lives the way it is. It ain't hard to figure which ones need to go behind the barn.

I know most of us don't use them, but do you feel MJ/pot/reefer is a bad drug or do you feel it is a drug at all? It seems alot of foks don't look down on it as much as before.
I have never used it (or any illegal drug) but from what you read/hear it's a drug that shouldn't be used. ("bad" drug) I do believe people do not look down on it as much as previously. When I first started underwriting life ins. applications, we would decline anyone using marijuana - later we got more liberal. Use of drugs such as cocaine (considered worse drugs), we would still decline.

Given the huge growth in drug addiction and alcoholism in older women, zedex has quite the future shooting old women behind a barn....

Power greed and lust, (for example) create new neural pathways the same way heroin does. The substance is rarely important and so outlawing drugs is of limited value.

I consider drug use to be a medical problem. The only way to eliminate the problem is to provide REAL treatment (not that NA/AA crap) to drug users. This treatment MUST be administered by SKILLED medical professionals. Prison guards, parole officers, and policemen do NOT fit that category. I would rather help our CITIZENS than subject them to cruel incarceration.

That was the civilized Blueeagle. Here's the redneck BlueEagle...

I'm not afraid of druggies. I live in an area full of drugs, but to this day, I have NEVER been burglarized. Why? Because these druggie KNOW I will shoot their ass if they so much as step foot on my property. There ain't gonna be no callin' the police. My 50 caliber desert eagle is the only protection I need. I wouldn't trade it for 1,000 cops.

As you can see I have mixed feelings. I support helping addicts, but I hesitate to fire if they mess with my property.

Not all drug abusers fit the stereotype hogwash we see on TV.
Correct. Most addicts run our companies listed on the S&P 500. Or the Russel 2000 index.
Wherever we see aging baby-boomers in professions, there we will see the drug epidemics.

I'm Texan, it's only natural I'm a little trigger happy. Nothin' wrong with that.

I don't hate druggie. Nobody is perfect. We all have our flaws. As a matter of fact, the best hand I ever had working on the family ranch was a 4 time drug FELON. This son-of-a-b**** worked like a damn dog!!! You could see him out there at 6 o'clock in the mornin'. While he was working for us, his probation officer violated him for a dirty urine test. This year we wrote a letter of recommendation to the parole board.
