My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Michigan.
A Family member of mine has received a ticket for "Improper Lane Change" with from the ticket tells me is a civil infraction. This ticket was issued an hour after the alleged infraction occured. The police officers confronted the driver at home, and proceeded to tell the driver, someone wrote down the license plate number, and reported the infraction. The officer also told the driver to not contest the ticket in court, because the officer will change the ticket to reckless driving in a construction zone.
the driver was exiting off the highway and was in the usual correct lane for his direction of turning. The current construction that is going on had apparently made progress and moved there cones up quite a distance. The driver noticing this, signaled and moved into the next lane. An elderly woman called and reported the plate number, as from what the officer said.
Im assuming there is an conflict of Hearsay about this case, but am not sure how to go about it.
Thank You.
