    Default Rented Cars

My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: Massachusetts
i was recently involved in a car accident, a women ran the stop sign and hit me. now i need to get a rental because i just cant drive the car i sounds like a tank and im afraid of doing further damage, my car wont be going into the shop for like a week because there booked up. do anybody know if i would be liable for the rented car until it begins to get fixed or are the going to have to pay for its all? it seems like the one who gets hit is always the one who has more trouble

If you had coverage for a rental on your own policy, you can make a claim with your own insurer. You can also try seeing if the at-fault driver's insurance company will provide a rental. But you should not expect that you are going to get a rental for the period your car is parked at your home, just because it's inconvenient for you to take it to a mechanic - you should expect that it will need to be in a facility undergoing repairs. If you do get a rental now, expect it to be for the period repairs are expected to take - which is probably significantly less than the week you intend to wait to seek service.
