My question involves real estate located in the State of: New York

My neighbor has been screaming about the property line since he moved in. I know where it is and went out there and put a steak in next to it.

He has tryed to tell me that the row of trees that are on my side of the line are theres, but are clearly on my side of the line.

He started to put up a fence and then decided to get a surveyor. The surveyer came and put a string line up from the front to the back. The line went right in between the fence and my trees.

The other day we had a wind storm and one of the trees fell on his fence. Take note that they cut the roots of that very tree to put in one of the post for the fence and they cut the rope that I had connecting three of the trees because they tiped over during an ice storm years ago.

So he called the cops because the tree had fell on his fence. We had already called our insurence company and told them. they told us that we where not liable because all it did to the fence was pull the screws out for one pannel and broke off a two inch piece from the top or one slat.

We told the cop that they could cut the part of the tree that was on there fence and anything that was over the line.Cop saw where the string was in between the fence and trees. Well after the cop left the a** went and cut the string line and moved it over so that my trees where on his side of it and said that he was going to cut the rest down so that they didnt fall on his fence again.

What do i do?
