Default What Law Governs a Contractor-Homeowners Agreement?

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California

    Hi,

Getting ready to hire a contractor to do a renovation on a single family home. We've had nightmares in the past with contractors and want to do it right this time. Is there a generic agreement that I can download and use that have blank job descriptions? And what laws govern general contractors?

    Thx

    TW

Use Google and try to find one. I'm not going to vouch for any particular form that might be located somewhere on the Internet.
