Default Third Minor in Same County in Minnesota

I was recently at a party barely really drinking, and the cops came. I was given a minor i blew a .077. I already have two other minors in the same state and county. Last time i went to court, which was in may, i was given a $282 fine and a year of probation and within my year of probation i was given a 30 day jail suspended and if i got caught again within that year i am suppose to go to jail i guess. So my question is..are they really going to send me to jail, should i be really worried cause right now i am considering getting a lawyer, but at the same time I am a 19 year old girl college student, that is absolutely broke!?

What should i do?!?! someone please help!!!

My court is on October 21

I would plan on it...it's #3. You were well AWARE of what you agreed to, and barely really drinking counts.
now i am considering getting a lawyer
I would not only consider it, but DO IT.

Then get a court appointed attorney. BUT GET ONE.
    What should i do?!?!
Your only 19 and have 3 MIP's. You should consider getting some help if there is a problem. My guess is that you have more of a problem than you realize. You even attempted to minimize the issue by stating "barely drinking". For you, ANY drinking is a VOP and you risk going to jail. If you can't stop drinking on your own, you should get some professional help. You have the rest of your life ahead of you and can't legally drink for about 2 more years. If you continue to have run in's with the law, after you get thru college, your going to find it difficult to obtain employment. Think about it from an employers point of view....hire the girl with a degree or hire the girl with the degree and 3 alcohol related charges.

30 days usual translates to 10 days or less (time off for good behavior or to make room for more serious offenders) and sometimes they let you serve it on weekends (but I'd get it over with all at once) I don't see any way out for you and I tried. You have less options each time you get arrested. You should still contact a lawyer and get an answer from a local attorney. county to county is different let alone state to state.

    This. In spades.

OP, you need to lay off the sauce, and you need to do that YESTERDAY. It's getting you nothing but trouble, and as gigirle says, it's going to have an impact on future employment.

It is not ironic... it is moronic.

You had more to lose than any other minor at the party... but you drank anyway. Even barely.

Plan on getting a healthy fine, some community service and mandatory attendance at AA or another substance abuse clinic or site.

You have been arrested three times for alcohol possession and you still defend it as normal and no problem. Heck, I bet you are reading this with a beer in your hand.

And you couldn't be more wrong.

If that was true, you wouldn't need our advice.

You have a HUGE problem - you think the law doesn't apply to you. No one cares how close to 20 you are. The legal drinking age is 21.

How to solve the problem of you getting caught drinking? STOP DRINKING. It ain't particle physics, cookie.

Your not old enough to get this..but let me go here. It's NOT how MUCH or how LITTLE you drink, it's what drinking does to YOU that makes you have a problem with alcohol. YOU have a problem with alcohol. I see an alcohol intake counseling session in your very near future. Don't expect anything less. You could be 3 months from being 21 and it wouldn't change the situation. At your rate, with 15 months to go before your legal, you could end up with 3 more!
As far as employers, you may not know anyone without one, but you have 3, which really changes things. Your world isn't a professional one yet and trust me, you have no idea what your talking about and it will make all the difference in the world.

Ya i understand completely what i was doing and yes i consider myself very stupid, but heres the thing all i want to know is if im going to jail...and ya im talking to a lawyer tomorow and i didnt put this post up on here for you people to tell me i have a drinking problem cause if you would know me you would know that i am the farthest thing from. period.

I dont have to explain myself but i will...i am 19 yes i am a full time student majoring in business/communications and yes i basically ****ed my future for a while with these minors but hear me out i dont go out at and when i do go out which is seldom i get ****ed thats why i watch what i do very carefully but obvioulsy i misjudged my friends house....I work two jobs while im attending school. Weekends im working at a resaturant and during the week when im not in class i work at a bank so i work about 50 hrs a week on top of going to school and you people think i have a problem...maybe you shouldnt judge people!!! ever thought of that!!!...all i wanted to know is if you think that they will send me too jail not if you thought or think i have a problem..

and yes i know i will have to take classes and community service and pay a major fine...but JAIL DO YOU THINK THEY WILL ACTUALLY SEND ME.

and for me getting any more, hun, dont bank on it, ive plan to be sober till my 21st...

All i really truthfully want to know is if you think i will go to jail...plain and simple thats it...i will pay my lifes saving not to go thats why i want to know if i should get a good lawyer or not...THANKS A BUNCHES!!!
