    Default Shoplifting at Target

    My wife was stopped for shoplifting at target for less than $70 iems, what are the consequences?
    Do I need a lawyer, I was gien a note from the police to set a court date, What will happned at the court?
    would that hurt the credit of my wife? The ability to work, since she is a nwly immagrant. the whole thing was a stutpid joke.
    Please any info can help

    Shoplifting is not a joke. What will happen in court depends on the circumstances and the laws of your state.
