How Do I Get Emancipated

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Florida

I am 16 yrs old and am living with friends . My family lives in Ohio , I came down here to stay with my older sister who is considered my legal gardian.Unfortunatly my sister is unable to take care of me and I cant go home. I would like to know how do I become emancipated . I have no social secerity card or ID - so I can't work unless I am able to get these things on my own. Any advice ?

Are you completely capable of self-support, including paying rent, utilities, clothes, food, transportation, medical care, insurance, school fees and supplies, internet connection, and all the other costs, while simultaneously going to school and keeping your grades up? (Since you don't have a social security card I'm guessing no.)

When the answer is yes, come back and we'll give you the next step. But as long as the answer is no, you're wasting your time trying.

PS; in Florida, your parents or legal guardian MUST file the petition for you or you're licked before you start; in Ohio, you cannot be emancipated at all unless you are either married or in the active armed forces (for both of which you need parental permission and in some cases permission of the court).

And there's a world of difference between being CONSIDERED a guardian, and legally BEING a guardian. Make sure you know where your relationship with your sister will stand in court and on official documents before you begin.
