My question involves a background check in the State of: Ohio
Hi:
I was found guilty of ORC Ann. 2917.11. The penalty imposed by the judge was a minor misdemeanor and I had to pay a fine of $150. Recently this conviction showed up on an employment background check. I was told by an attorney that this conviction by law was not reportable. I know that minor misdemeanors for drug offenses in Ohio are not legally reportable, but is it the same for disorderly conduct? I am just wondering whether I should request a reinvestigation through the consumer reporting agency that reported the conviction to my prospective employer. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!
