    Default Petite Theft in Illinois

My question involves criminal law for the state of: illinois

I was caught with 3 cosmetic products (a 50 $ value, not more) non paid when I left wallmart. The security man called the police who gave me a fine of 50$, that I pay. On the compliance violation they write "petite theft", violate section 66-54. They didn't tell me if I have to go to court. This will appear on my record? It's the first time I make a mistake.

It's likely to appear on your record. It's also not the first time you've made a mistake...unless you've been perfect up until now.
