Default Suspended for No Insurance, and Need Exemption for Work

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Ohio

My license was suspended for driving with no insurance. I have learned that I can petition the courts to allow me to have an exemption so that I can get a license that will allow me to drive for work purposes since my job requires me to drive.

How do I go about doing this on my own without having a lawyer?

    Thanks

Contact the Ohio DMV & see if you qualify for a special "work permit" & how to go about it.

They said there is no such thing and that I would have to petition the courts to go before a judge on the matter. I still need to know how to do that.

If the DMV wouldn't/couldn't tell you how to go about it, call & ask the court clerk.

The DMV & the court clerk were the only suggestions I could think of since you didn't want to use a lawyer. Good luck.

Not that I didn't want to use a lawyer, I just simply cannot afford it. It would cost just as much for a lawyer as it would to pay off all the fines and reinstatement fees. I just can't do it right now.

And I called the Clerk of Courts. They said all I have to do is come in and fill out the paperwork for a petition and then I get a court date to go before a judge or magistrate.

    Sounds simple enough.. hopefully..
