Default Third DUI in 10 Years

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California (San Bernardino CO)

and had fulfilled my 6 year probation and my record would have been clean in about 1 more year. is it worth even getting an attorney or should i get a Public Defender? can't really afford a high priced lawyer. but i was advised to request a DMV hearing within the 10 days either way. obviously i would at least prefer to avoid jail time and plea down as much as possible. but will it really make any difference? i'm prepared to accept the punishment, license suspension, etc. if there's no sense in fighting it.

also, anyone know what kind of time i'm looking at, was told preliminarily it could be about 120 days, but that would usually mean about 30-60 unless i can get an alternative sentence, again would a skilled dui lawyer or Public Defender have a better chance? any advice is really appreciated.

Get a DUI lawyer. 4th conviction in 10 years is a FELONY.

Wouldn't think twice about it. GET an attorney that specializes in DUI cases right away.

Hopefully he can find a flaw in the case. Either way though, your going to have a better chance fighting it with a skilled DUI attorney.

    good luck.

I live in Louisiana and I have 3 dui's. I had to spend 45 days in jail. I paid a lawyer15 grand. I got 1 month mandatory in patient treatment, 3 years house arrest, 1 year out patient, 5 years probation, $1000.00 fines plus probation fees and court costs. It was not fun and I would not reccomend it but I lived through it and I am not in jail. I am a convicted felon now, which sucks and I am wondering what the lawyer did for my 15 grand but I am free

A public pretender could have done what he did for $40.00 so I am STILL wondering
