Default PC 290 Sex Offender Registration

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

My boyfriend is a registered pc 290. He is on probation til the year 2011. My question is as a registered sex offender under the pc 290, can you reside with minors in the household? No where in any of his paper work does it state that he can or can't and we are curious to know if it is allowed.

He should ask his probation officer.

Ditto. Such a restriction would be on his probation orders.

It should be noted that the guardian(s) of the children in the household where a 290 registrant lives may come under scrutiny from CPS or law enforcement if there ever is a thought that they MIGHT be at risk. The parent or guardian had best consider the possibilities carefully.

An offender is required to register. His level effects public notification, and it also may effect where he can live or work (i.e. parks, schools, places that cater to kids, etc.). There is no legal restriction I know of that prevent contact with children at home by virtue of PC 290.

No one else has said it so I will. Why would the parent(s) of thes eminors want a sex offender in same house? furthermore if CPS were to find out the parent(s) be faced with some uncomfortable questions. I wonder how CPS would react if a parent(s) allowed his/her children to reside in same house as sex offender
