    Default Total loss, insured but no title

    i recently purchased a car, had it insured but didnt get to change the title into my name. now i have a total loss claim but the title is in the ex owners name... does anyone know what the legal implications would be in this type of situation????

    Make a claim and see what happens. The insurance company may try to deny the claim on the basis that if you don't own the car, you don't have an insurable interest. But they may just pay it.
