    Default Copyright for Machine-Created Media

I have a question about copyright on machine-created media. If a picture or video is taken automatically by a machine (i.e. those pictures theme parks take on rollercoasters, or motion sensing security systems), is it public domain? There is no individual who took the picture or video to claim the copyright, so it would seem to me that it is public domain.

    Thanks a lot!
