    Default stalling a divorce judgment

How long can I stall a divorce? I am doing pretty good now, its going on three years. I want to make sure my estranged husband has nothing left and to get him back for leaving me. Will there be any repercussions if I continue doing this? My attorney knows my goals and so far we have been successful at keeping this out of court for a final hearing. Is there any chance that I can do this until we have been married 20 years so I can get permanant spousal support? We were married 11 years at the time of separation 3 years ago.

    Default Stalling a Divorce

    It's exceptionally unlikely.

It's generally considered unethical for an attorney to deliberately stretch out litigation. It's also unhealthy - it's best that you let go and get on with your life.

Well, so far the judge hasn't tried to stop us. Every request that we have had he has granted. At the last hearing my husband's lawyer asked for the judge to grant the divorce and we objected and the judge upheld it. My attorney told me I could have anything I want because I have enough money (my parents) and he is friends with the judge. I don't care if its unethical or unhealthy. What I am concerned about is getting a new judge should the current one become ill. Would there be any repercussions in that case?
