    Default Recording Conversations

just wondering if its breaking any laws or if i could be charged if i recorded my own personal phone line while i was out so "monitor" what is going on when i am not home. i have older children that will take care of the younger children but feel that something is going on. if i recorded my phone to see what was being done, not to use it in court or for anyother purpose just to see/hear whats going on when i am gone. the state that we are in is washington state

    Illegal.

If the older kids are not trustworthy, hire a sitter.
