Smile Name Change of a Minor in Texas

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Texas

I'm a legal resident of the US, I got married to a US citizen and I have 3 kids of my previous marriage. They are residents too.

I want to Change my kids name. We currently live in Texas
I have the full legal representation and full custody and guard
    We are from Central america.
we are not planning to go back there

Can I do it or do I need to wait until the citizenship comes out?

    Thanks,

You can do it now, without waiting for citizenship.

You'll need to contact your county's Clerk of Courts for the appropriate forms, which will include instructions. Follow the instructions exactly.

You may be required to obtain consent from your ex-spouse.
