Question Renewal or Revival of a Judgment

My question involves judgment recovery in the State of:Illinois

Judgement placed against me in 1998. They also filed paper work with the recorder of deeds in the county I live in.

What is the time frame for renewal/revive of judgement? (My understanding is 7 years?) If it were to be renewed etc, would I receive paperwork regarding this?

When legislation changed in 2002 regarding judgements, does this pertain to judgements issued prior to 2002 or just 2002 forward?

Not sure if this matters, I did check with the recorder of deeds office, and there is no lien on property from the judgement creditor.

What statute are you referencing, and what was changed?

The judgment can remain on your credit report for 7 years.

I believe it is 735ILCS5/12-108 or 735ilcs5/13-218. While I was attempting to do my own research, I googled the incorrect code and anyway came across an article that the time frame for judgements had passed in legislation. If I remember correctly it stated a judgement previously had to be renewed within 7 years and 7 years. They had been asking legislation to change to the 20 years. I hope this makes some sense. Trying to go by memory and of course can't remember how I missearched to start off with.

Thank you. I guess my confusion comes in from the following:
A judgment issued by the Circuit court of the state of Illinois generally may be enforced for a period of 7 years and renewed if an action of revival is brought within 20 years.

I would assume if and when a revival is brought, I would be notified?

Then confusion really sets in when judgment was filed with our recorder of deeds. After 7 years it may be extended additional 7 years by filing of a revival order. (As of now, there is no lien on property by the judgment creditor. )
