Gearing for Emancipation Two Years Early

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of:


im 14 and have wanted to emancipate since i was 10 or so.
a month or two ago i stared reading more about emancipation and i found out that you need some form of parental consent, but my parents will never consent to it.
but if i get a good job and show the judge that i can take care of myself.
and i have a place to live with my friend and her family, do you think its possible that the judge will approve even with out their consent?

and no im not hoping to emancipate because they beat me or anything like that.

i mean my dad did hella years ago,
but he already went to jail for that.
my parents are not together,
so i dont know if that matters.

im pretty sure i really dont have anything on my record,
recently there was a statutory rape thing,
but on the police report my name was left anonymous, so i dont think it will be a problem.

oh, and i live in california

No. If they say No, it means No and that's the end of it.

Even WITH parental consent, the chances that a judge will emancipate a 14 year old are next to nothing. Without parental consent, you haven't got a prayer.

Note to the teenagers lurking on this topic - and I know you're there, because you keep PMing me, and you really need to stop that because I'll just yell at you for it and let my own teenager read it so he can mock you - your therapist/teacher/social worker/next door neighbor/librarian is not the Magic Wish Granting Fairy and cannot get you any sort of Special Snowflake status in the eyes of the law.

Learn to get along with your parents or guardians.

Emancipation is not for children pissed off at the rules or wanting to play house with the boyfriend. It's not even for children who are being abused - that's what CPS is for.

Emancipation is primarily for children who don't HAVE parents or guardians anymore and need the rights to go along with the responsibilities of adulthood that have been thrust upon them through no fault of their own. It does not magically make your life one of carefree bliss and sunshine and ponies and lollipops pouring outta your butt. If anything, it merely introduces you to precisely how hard the world sucks way before you should have to cope with that.

I would hope the therapist wasnt that stupid or naive. I suspect he said something and the word "emancipation" was enbedded in the sentence. Then the deluded teen closed her mind to everything else. Hence she assumed her therapist said emancipation was a good route to take. If not the case, and we will never really know. I fall back to the stupid and naive remark

Well, I suppose she could... if in two years she qualifies. But that's a big "if". So far we have no indication that she meets any of the requirements for emancipation.
