Georgia's age of consent is 16 (see 16-6-3) so criminal charges are out.
HOWEVER, if her parents disapprove of this relationship they can absolutely forbid you from seeing their daughter and can get a restraining order against you - which will land you in jail for any violation. Once the child is born, you can bring a paternity case to establish visitation (as well as the joys of child support), but be aware that while this will establish visitation between you and your child, any contact with the minor mother is still under the total control of her parents until she's either 18 or married (which requires parental consent in Georgia).
Thank-you. I read that if the girl is 16 and pregnant you can get married without the parents signature. Is this true because we want to be together but i dont think her mother is going to want us to.This was going to be our last resort of being able to be together with the baby.
You can petition for the right to marry because your girlfriend is pregnant, then there will be a hearing. Both sets of parents will be served notice of the hearing so they can appear and be heard. The judge will decide.

This wasn't a very good plan since you've forever changed your lives, but maybe you'll be successful. I hope neither of you regrets it later.
In Ga, if the girl is 16 and has proof of preganacy, parental consent is not needed to marry. Take the dr's papers to the courthouse and get your license, go get hitched. Done.
But, you also must remember that excluding your parents can have far reaching and long term ramifications. { My sister in law and her parents are still on the "outs"--25 years later}
This happens in a lot of those Georgia counties more than you could imagine.
I know it sounds crazy but listen to the old folks, they likely know what they are talking about even though they are old codgers and just the 'rents. They may be able to help you all and would likely love to watch after their new grandbaby while their daughter and her babydaddy finished up high school and college, respectively. It will take you many years of responsibilty to get back in their favor if you have fallen out.
Wear a rubber or get a reversible vasectomy until she is out of high school and, preferrably, out of college. It will save you a lot of headaches in the future. A close friend was a teenage mother and committed suicide at 26 when her baby was just 10 years old. The stress of struggling hurt her and her family and did much harm.
...and if you are getting married, bless you for doing the right thing. Thanks for making sure a child has a father in his life. Just remember that the grandfather is important, too!
