    Default Credit Card Fraud

I was recently a victim of identity theft because someone kept using my credit cards and I reported them numerous times and finally the credit card company reversed all the refunds that they gave me previously regarding the fraudulent charges and claimed that the charges were NOT fraudulent and that I was the one who used the credit card, not someone else.

I spoke to a chase representative in charge of my credit card claims and she advised me to file a police report. I was wondering what will happend after I file a police report, such as if they will confiscate my computer or anything in regards to the investigation. But basically I am wondering what will happen after I file the police report and do I have a choice but to pay this $10,000 bill.

    Greatly appreciated,

If the charges ARE yours and you reported the card stolen, then you could very well face fraud charges. I doubt they will confiscate your computer. If charges were made from your cc from your IP address, they don't need it.
I was a victim myself of this. It was a nightmare. I was lucky and could prove that I wasn't even in the same state at the time. I was advised when I reported it stolen (discovered it when I received an $11,000 bill in the mail) to file a police report. The process of getting the charges removed was long and by the time it was over, I felt like I had to prove my innocense. File a police report and then call them back and inform them that you have done such and go from there. If you DID use the card, reported it stolen and then file a false police report, your jumping from the frying pan and into the fire.
