I was recently denied a permit to drive a taxi cab here in Athens Ga due to a mis. prostitution charge I had recieved in Calumet City, Il before moving here. I have attempted to find other work here but have been unsuccessful. I am left homeless and sleeping in my car, panhandling for gas money when I had been offered a chance to make over $400 a week with a local cab company. Driving a cab is all I have done for the past 4 years in the Chicago area.

What can I do to change this, and what can we all do to end the discrimmination in employement due to past criminal charges?

After all haven't we already been sentinced for the crime by the Judge, why should we face additional sentincing in employment denial, housing denials, and Government assistance denials? :?:
