My question involves divorce in the State of: Ohio
I had written on here before, regarding the divorce of my husband. Basically our relationship ended, we both went our separate ways, and we both got pregnant at different points in time. (well actually his new girlfriend is pregnant, not him.) Me with my daughter being a year old, and his child due in early October.
Of course because we were married at the time, I -had- to put his name as the father on the B.C
Well I wanted to file for dissolution, as we pretty much agree on everything.
Of course though, I had to handle the paternity side of things.
So on 7/24 of this year I had a paternity test done with her actual father. We got the results back in a weeks time. (Which was great as I was told it would take 6-8 weeks!) It wasnt a question of who her father was in any of our eyes, only the court system, and legally.
So now I have a paper, stating her father is her father 99.99%.
It was done through the county now. Because we are low income and I was/am doing the dissolution myself, out of pocket without a lawyer, they said they could help.
Is this paper I have, a legal document?
Can I now file my papers for dissolution?
It said on the paternity papers that if no motion was filed within 30 days it would become solid basically. Noone is going to file papers in the matter so it is a done deal.
Considering it takes I think between 45-60 days for a hearing for dissolution, it will be past the 30 days for the paternity, can I just go file this week and wait?
I also today got the paperwork to correct her B.C.
Thank you in advance!
