My question involves traffic court in the State of: New Jersey
When I was 17 I was involved in an accident and did not have my insurence papers on me. The officer told me I could just fax them to him however it turned out the policy in the car I was driving had lapsed so I did not send him any information. I recieved a letter to go to court and but did not go. I am aware that I have a bench warrant in the township because I called to find out recently. I have an out of state licence (PA) and have been pulled over in the state of NJ several times without any mention of the warrent that has been issued to me by the officer. I want to travel to australia in February and was wondering if this would prohibit me from travelling. Also I would like to get this cleared up. I heard that the state of NJ cannot require me to have insurance becuase the car I was driving was registered in PA. What are some options on that? My main focus for the time being is if I can travel or not. ( I am currently in the process of applying for my Passport)
Thank you
