Default Accidentally Accused Someone of Fraud

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio, IN.

On a internet forum I wrote a statement that someone signed a blank form then a lawyer filled it in for a lawsuit. That was the memory I had but come to find out the form was filled out before. Once that was written it was to late to change it and now the thread is deleated. No one except the person I was talking to knows who the lawyer is and the name was never mentioned. When I found out the truth I did write an apology on that same forum.

I accused him of fraud even though it didn't happen because that's what the memory was. What else can I do to help this situation and how could this be settled.

    Thanks

What happened as a result of you writing this?

Did the person in question contact you? Are you being threatened with suit? You're rather vague here as to what your "situation" is.

If nothing happened and the thread has been deleted, I wouldn't worry about it. If asked about it later, simply admit that you were mistaken, note that you posted a public apology already, and move on.

This took place in the past week and nothing happened because of it, I sure some feelings were hurt. There was no damage I assume because no one knows who this lawyer is except the person the post was directed at. I don't want to do that to anyone. It's amazing how a memory can change.

    Thank you.
