My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: WA
Driving from Seattle to Walla Walla on -I 90 eastbound. I'm keeping pace with everyone(going 73) in the right lane. Trooper on the side of the road, no radar. Decides to join the traffic and is one car behind(so a car between him and I), keeps driving for a couple of miles, then takes the left lane and speeds up. Two cars, myself and the car infront take the left lane soon after, go for a mile, the car infront changes back to right lane, I keep driving. Trooper still ahead and slowing down due to traffic infront if him. I'm still on pace, he pulls over to the right lane and waves me to pull over.
Comes by the passengers side window and tells me that I was speeding and I'm being recorded, I tell him I am only keeping pace, he asks who's car and I reply my father inlaw, he leaves.
I'm driving a fairly new Mercedes SUV with plates from British Columbia, Canada. He comes back 5 mins later tells me I was speeding and I can fight it, all the information was on the ticket, I tell him I will.
I feel I got this ticket because of BC, Canada plates because on the way back another trooper just outside of Walla Walla followed me for 5 miles before turning back. They probably think I'm not going to fight it
Can I fight it, I don't think he was using a radar to clock me approaching him even though the ticket is checked for SMD
thanks,
