My question involves criminal law for the state of: illinois
so i was sentenced to court supervision for my first dui and part of this was random drug testing. i don't use any drugs, but do drink. i am not ever driving again, i don't even have a car and this was my friend's car, so i don't need a lecture about drinking and driving.
my question is, if they drop me for alcohol and i haven't drank in the past 24 hours can they test for that? i read about some urinalysis that they can do where they can detect "metabolites" from alcohol and that can tell them if i have drank in the past few days. i read somewhere that these tests are expensive...do i have these for court supervision? i know that i have to pay 50 bucks a drop, i don't know if that makes a difference...
any help is greatly appreciated! thanks!
