hello
i was at a provincial park in ontario canada.was illegally parked well as i unloading my vehicle. a park ranger arrived and began giving out tickets came to me and said you are getting a ticket. i said no i am not i am leaving now. i quickly got into my car and checked my drivers side mirror and the park ranger was at the side of my vehicle. i very slowly began to reverse out as there was a lot of people in the area. i reversed out about 1 foot and stopped there was a large thumb from the officer slamming his fist onto the back of my truck which is now dented. the park ranger began screaming you hit me you hit me and told me to get out of my car i quickly got out and was told to turn around and was handcuffed. placed in the back of his car was written a parking ticket, also another ticket for fail to obey traffic directions of ministry personnel. finally what i am worried about is he gave me a summons to appear in court for the offence to obstruct an officer contrary to provincal parks and conservation reserves act. i apologized and told him i did not mean to back into him and he continually went on saying i did it on purpose. i have witnesses saying he was not even hit and walked into the vehicle as it stopped. any how he said i have to appear in court and will be faced with a fine but no record. no police officers were called as i was able to talk him out of that. my concern is i want to make certain i can only be faced with a fine and no criminal record? he also wrote on the summons the court day which falls on monday of a long weekend and the court is not open on that day. also i plan on pleading innocent as if the park ranger was hit it was purely a accident.
