    Default Answering a Civil Summons

My question involves child support in the State of: North Carolina

Late April my ex and I agreed to child custody and support. I was served with a civil summons of her asking for the max of child support for N.C. (If I have read everything correct, this would be approx. 17% of my pay).

I do not have the money to afford an atty. She has her bf paying for all of her fees. I am going to answer this summons and go about this myself.

Once I answer this summons, I will be filling for full legal and physical custody of my son. Can I add this to the legal summons or do I need to file a seperate form?

Does anyone know where I can get good forms to complete this? I know I can go to legal zoom and other websites, but I would rather ask the people on here who has the best.

    Thank you for your time.

You should be able to get the forms from your local court clerk's office. If they don't have the forms, they usually know where to find them.

You should read up on the state's laws and court rules. You might be able to find them by going to www.govengine.com and clicking on your state.

Most likely, you'll need to file a response and also a counter-petition, but you'll know exactly what you need to file when you read the laws and court rules.
