    Default Process Server

My question involves court procedures for the state of: IL

Can anyone recommend a process server in the Joliet/Chicago area? I know I can yellowbook it, but was just wondering if any of you have someone you would highly recommend.

I looked up the one that is listed here on the site in IL, but the page on the website under process server is an error not found page. (Meador Investigations)

The person they will be serving is usually only home in the late evening or early morning hours. He works as a cable contractor (self employed) and travels in several different cities so his workplace is not going to be an option for service.

    Thanks in advance!

When I'm trying to find a process server for an area I don't know, I often try to find out from the court clerk if there's a court officer or other process server that they will (unofficially) recommend. It's usually a good way to find a decent process server and avoid "gutter service" (the rare server who returns an affidavit of service and charges you a fee, but didn't actually serve the papers).

    Thanks so much for that!

I called them and was told the county sheriff would serve, and the charge is very inexpensive, 46$.
