Default Name Change Filing Fees for a Family

I have no luck finding out the filing fees for a name change for a family of three in Miami, Florida. My attorney does not know. Phone calling the clerk of the court and asking the same question did not get me anywhere. The court's web site states the fee of $301.00, but it does not say whether this fee is per person, or per "case"? Other Google search results regurgitate that same information (fee of $301 for a name change - but it does not specify is that per person, or can family of three apply for that amount).

Since we are family of three (including a minor child), we have only one application (family) which we are filling, will this $301 cover the whole family, or is this specifically per person? Does anyone have reliable answer or a link to info. that clears this up?

Filing fees are normally per case, so my best guess would be if you can file your petition and take care of the name change in one case you would only pay one filing fee. The court clerk will usually let you know when you take your pleading in for filing.

If there is only 1 petition covering all parties, the filing fee should be the $301.00. When you file, try to pay that, believe me, if the court clerk feels that it is more, they WILL let you know.
