Now I wanted to do this quick, because I'm at work. Now I'm sorta in the boat like most. I mean it's a small boat but could get bigger. Yatta Yatta. My question was, I owned a capital one card, used it, then got into a bit of a financial problem and could pay on it so I kinda let it go. Now on July 6th, 2008 I got a summons from them to appear in court to pay the amount of $1268.17. Now I'm willing to pay for I have a well paying job, but I'm living paycheck to paycheck. Anyways, now I haven't gotten a date to appear in court because the summons papers had requested for me to seek a lawyer in 20 days. Now I really can't afford one AND I don't see the point for such a small amount, and if I did hire a lawyer I'd just end up owing more money then I'd originally. Well, now they want to tack on other finance fees, plus 26.78% interest onto that amount. I mean they sold the account to crediters and now are taking me to court for it? I'm very confused. I mean is there a way to settle this, even if I do go to court, where I can just pay them $504 a month. Like meaning if Captial one agrees to drop the "hidden" fees that they want to add + the 26.78% interest. Any suggestions?
