Default False Rape Accusation in the workplace

My question involves defamation in the state of: Oklahoma

I work for a fortune 25 company. I was recently away on vacation for 4 weeks and had been back for 2 weeks when a couple of my female coworkers came to me and reported that while i was gone a certain person i will call X was spreading some vicious rumors. The 1st was that a co worker and I are in a sexual relationship, and that i was telling everyone about it. i have never done anything with this lady. The 2nd rumor X started was that i raped her, which never happened. It was brought to my attention after me being back to work for 2weeks and i was shocked. I talked to a couple other male co workers that have had similar issues with X. So i brought it to my manager attention she is a fair person and I explained my imposition. My manager told me she would address the situation and speak with X manager however i feel justified in wanting that person terminated especially with the other outstanding rumors floating. I would not want to pursue a civil suit its probably not worth my time.
What can be done if X is not fired?
I am well known at work and have built a solid internal network however i will not be happy knowing my employer would let such actions slide. Acusation of felonious acts can get me fired so why would i put up with a work enviroment that simply slaps someone on the wrist for Felony acusations?

Basically what is the recourse i have if the employer (fortune 25 company) does not fire this person for slander, or whatever the HR term would be?

You can quit and look for other employment.

You do not have the right to determine the disciplinary actions taken by your company against another coworker.

This falls into the "unfair but not illegal" category.

Agreed. Another thing you could do is to file a formal written complaint about the situation, and encourage your co-workers who have had the same or similar things happen do the same.

Everything that has happened needs to be verified in writing, that way there will be a paper trail leading to the guilty party.

There are no circumstances whatsoever under which an employer is required to fire someone, and there are no circumstances whatsoever in which you legally have a say in what discipline is handed out to other employees. Nor are they obligated to tell you what action was taken. Even if they do not fire X, that does not mean that they are "letting it slide" or "slapping her on the wrist". Just because you do not see what action is taken does not mean that no action has been taken at all.
