My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA
Almost 6 months ago I went to Bloomingdales to buy 2 comforters. I checked both the expensive and the ones on sale. As I was looking at them I ended up putting the expensive comforters (600$ each) on the sale comforters case, and I paid cheaper. I paid really cheap for both of them since they were scanned as on sale. I paid with my credit card, and left the store. As I was leaving the store I realized there were cameras. At that moment I thought I was going to be stopped any minute. I did not know what to do and left the store. I was not stopped or detained. After that horrible experience, I decided not to ever do that again. My question is can the store prosecute me for that incident? What are the chances of that to happen? Sometimes I can't sleep because of that, and I have been so scared for what I did. Please advice!
