My question involves criminal law for the state of: georgia
My friend has a son whom moved from Georgia to another state with a transferred probation. The son lived in the other state and eventually thought he was no longer on probation. He moved to another state out west and learned a warrant was issued for his arrest by officers going to a friend's home (in Georgia) to arrest him. Atty. in the western state checked on the records in the state of Ga. and determined there was no warrant for him.His mother called the Sherriff's office and was told there was a warrant for him.
He has remained fine upstanding citizen with no record. He does not do drugs. He goes to church.
He has seen another atty. out west. Can an out of state atty. determine if he will indeed go to jail for violation or can the atty. find out the
protocol for representing his client in order to provide no jail time. The young man is willing to pay retribution, etc. He would like to continue his life and move up in the company where he works.
