Default I wanted to work things out

Right before my husband in Michigan filed for divorce I (in CA) told him i wanted to work things out. I hear that in MI you actually have to go thru marriage counseling first before you get a divorce. I was wondering, if at least one of think the marriage can be reconciled, will the divorce go further? If i get back to MI, will they make us do counseling since I am willing to work on the marriage and he isn't?

    Default Divorce Counseling in Michigan

Some Michigan counties require an education program of parents involved in a divorce case with minor children (the SMILE program). There was a bill last year to require divorce effects education, but no such legislation has passed. As you would have to return to Michigan for any counseling in any case, and you have stated elsewhere that you can't return to Michigan, it doesn't seem that counseling is a viable option.
