My question involves child support in the State of: Texas
My husband's ex-wife is taking him to small claims court for unpaid medical expenses. My husband in the past has never held issue with paying these expenses, however his ex-wife recently sent him all the medical bills she has been saving up since 2006. He was not made aware of these bills until the threat was made that she was taking him to court. His daughter had a child in 08/2007 and her mother kicked her out of the house in 02/2009 keeping the grand-daughter. Since then the daughter has lived from frined to friend and my husband continued to pay his child support as ordered by the courts to her mohter.(His daughter refused to live with us unless we moved to the town her mother lives in.) The ex-wife is trying to charge him with 50% of past medical bills, 27% interest on these bills which also include a 279.00 medical bill for the grand-daughter. She has been told in the past not to save up the bills it is too hard for us to come up with a lump sum of money like that, and if she would submit these to him as she receives them we could pay them. Is he liable for all of these bills and the interest?
