Default What Liability Does a Lifeguard Have?

My question involves injury or loss that occurred in the state of: New York
My son is a part-time lifeguard for the local recreation department and also for a private company. He has both Red-Cross and Boy Scout certification.

What liability would he have if something went wrong?

That's an open-ended question with no answer.

So, in general, make sure he is covered by lots of liability insurance through his employer.

That won't stop anyone from suing, but it sure helps when it comes to paying judgments!

Agree, verify with his employers that they have a liability coverage policy that specifically covers "lifeguards."
