My question involves paternity law for the State of: Ohio

This girl and I had a daughter five years ago. We had the baby out of wedlock but I did sign the birth certificate and there isn't a question as to who is the father.

Two months after her baby was born we split up, and she wouldn't let me have contact with her. Three weeks after the split up her father who was her only family tie with my area died, and she I assumed moved out of state. I finally found her location though, a few hours away but in the same state now. I've got her address and everything I think I would need.

My question is now, after all this time do I have any rights to my daughter? As far as me being able to establish paternity and move forward to being able to hopefully seeing her in the future?

I haven't had any contact with her mom, and would prefer not too until after some kind of motion is set forcing her to stay in state also.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Yes, you still have time to file to enforce your rights. File in court to establish paternity, CS and visitation. The court will most likely order a graduated visitation to allow you and your daughter to get to know each other.
