    Default Promotional Discrimination

    My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Florida

    I was one of two person applying for a position at a local fire department. One of the requirements for the position was to have a two year degree. I was told that the scoring for the position was extremely close, however, i was not choosen. Come to find out the person choosen did not have a degree as required and still does not have. It has been three years now, was I discriminated against?

    Possibly but it wasnt illegal. There are forms of discrimination that are not illegal this was one.

    Even if you were illegally discrimnated against, the time to file a charge is long gone as you would only had 180 days from the date of the last incident or 300 days if your state is a deferral state.

    It really sucks, when governmets screw people over. In addition to the promotional discrimination I was a victim of, I also receive overtime at two different rates of pay. They justify that by saying I exempt, even though I for the most part, the over whelming majority of time I spend awaiting a combat call
