Smile Putting Non Biological Man on Birth Certificate vs Adoption

My question involves adoption law for the State of: South Carolina

Im currently 7 months pregnant with my daughter, The biological father was told and has since dropped off the planet (i did ask him to terminate his rights, but he just dissapeared instead)

The chances of him coming around later in life are extremely slim to none.
That being said..My fiance' who has been around since month 3 and will be for the remainder of our lives, would love to be listed as the father on her birth certificate..just so we dont have to go through the whole adoption and name change thing later. Im all up for that idea, but i dont want to be breaking the law. Is this ok to do??

First, I would reconsider putting a man you have known for four months in your child's life.

Second, I would recommend against defrauding a state agency by knowingly lying on an identity document.

You'd probably be better off leaving it blank. One never knows what the future holds. Four months is not long enough to tell a whole lot. He can adopt her later and it would be easier if bio father is not on the bc and never steps foward to claim the child.

Im not that naive lol, ive known my fiance for 6 years, we are best friends..it just took a little growing up to do to realize the man of my dreams was right under my nose the whole time.

That still does not justify fraud!
