    Question Interview Sooner Than Expected

I was scheduled for the naturalization interview next Monday, but I am surprised (AND CONCERNED) about how soon I received the notice. I read on the USCIS website that it is taking between 6 and 9 months for the whole process but I JUST APPLIED IN APRIL. (its been 3 months). Furthermore, I live in an area where there are lots of immigrants, so I assume that my local office is one where the whole process takes longer.

Here is why I am concerned:

On the application, I wrote that I had two misdemanor charges:
    1. MIP (alcohol), in 2006
Explanation: I was at a "college party" and the cops busted me. I had to go to court and after completing 12 hours of community service, they dismissed the charge (without entering a CONVICTION)

    2. Human Waste (urinating in public place), early 2007.
Explanation: Leaving another party, I did something immature.........
The officer saw me and gave me a citation. After paying a fine (less than $100) and good conduct for the next 3 months, the charge was dismissed
    (without entering a CONVICTION).

I am wondering, was my interview scheduled this early only because I admitted to a crime (misdemeanor)?

I also need advice (or opinion) on what to respond if the officer asks me for more details about the incidents. By the way I am submitting certified documentation from the court. And I am sure the average person knows that the majority of college students drink BEFORE TURNING 21.

Doubtful. Neither is a crime of moral turpitude, so it's not like you're going to get deported over them.

    You tell the truth. Easy.

And I am sure the average person knows that the majority of college students drink BEFORE TURNING 21.
The average person also knows that - except in some very narrow circumstances - it's ILLEGAL. For heaven's sake, don't go in there with a 'tude like that.

Question Officer asks for supervisor's opinion.

I had my interview today. Fortunately, the officer was very courteous. The officer did take a look at the documents from the court. He recommended the application for Approval; he even asked me to print my name on the Cirtificate, BUT HE SAID THAT HE WILL CONSULT WITH HIS SUPERVISOR. He told me to wait for another letter in the mail (possibly the appointment for the Oath Ceremony). Does this sound like good news for me or is it more likely that the supervisor will deny the application?

    That's anyone's guess.

If you went in there acting like a stuck up fool the way you did in your original post? Probably bad news.

If you got over yourself and were contrite and polite? Probably good news.

You've rolled the dice, now you have to wait it out.
