    Default Colorado Emancipation Law

    Can the parents request to have their unruly 17 1/2 year old emancipated if they agree to pay for rent, food until they turn 18?

    No, being emancipated means you are able to support yourself.

    Meaning your parents or no one else supports you. What you are describing is your parents throwing you in an apartment and still supporting you until your 18.
