    Default CPS Access to Passwords

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: Indiana

What rights does Child Protective Services have to independently access MySpace and other websites? We have not given permission of passwords for them to access our children's information . . . . but they evidently contacted MySpace and accessed the emails. Thanks -

Sounds as if they had enough evidence to do this. You might consider talking to an Attorney as this coud be tip of iceberg

MySpace would not have turned over any non-public information without a court order. Apparantly either CPS or the law enforcement agency they are working with were able to convince a judge that such access was warranted.

Would we be aware that they requested and/or received a court order? There is a request to MySpace that we did NOT make for password confirmation - not that we wouldn't have given it to them (we printed out all the emails), but it bothered me when the CPS worker mentioned she had looked at it online . . . . thanks much!

If they made you aware they were going into your myspace to look for evidence against you, you could remove it. You understand why they wouldnt have told you?
